Keith â€œShrekâ€ Sharp graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona, with a B.S. in Aeronautical Science, a minor in Aviation Safety Program Management, and a Commercial Multi-engine Instrument Pilot Certificate in 1997. Keith accepted an appointment to the Navyâ€™s Officer Candidate School and was commissioned in March 2000.
He was designated a Naval Flight Officer on June 2001 and completed his fleet tour at VS-21 in the S-3B Viking, logging over 800 hours and 170 arrested landings while serving as the squadrons Safety Officer. After his initial fleet tour, Keith was ordered to Training Squadron FOUR (VT-4) as an instructor for Naval Flight Officer for the Intermediate Jet Training syllabus. During this tour, he logged over 1000 hours in the T-39 and T-1 aircraft while providing classroom and flight instruction to Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and foreign military flight officers and weapons system operators. While at VT-4, Keith also served as the NATOPS Officer and as a Model Manager for TRAWING 6 developing, revising, and updating training materials and curricula.
After seven years of active service, Keith transitioned to the United States Naval Reserve in 2007 and accepted a position as an Operational Analyst and Project Manager working multiple Government and Foreign Military Sales aviation based training systems development programs. During this time, Keith also began working on his accreditation in Instructional Systems Design. In March 2013, Keith was mobilized with the Naval Reserves to Commander Task Force 51 in Bahrain where he served as the Air Operations Officer and Assistant Future Operations Officer, coordinating operations for the ARG/MEU in the FIFTH FLEET Area of Responsibility. After completing his tour in Bahrain, Keith joined SSE in August of 2014 and now serves as the Program Manager for Government Services.
